New York Fashion Week Reem Acra RTW Fall 2014-The essence of Paris in a NY language.

New York Fashion Week has always been about wearable all-american ready-to-wear fashion at its best, leaving Paris to deal with the ”experimental bit” of designing a collection.Don’t get me wrong,i much evaluate a well-designed DVF wrap dress, but still,i expect more to happen regarding both inspiration and innovation. Therefore i applaud that Reem Acra was, this season, working on a fashion language-this of the master designer as the protagonist who designs interesting clothes, breaking the rules of simply rtw staples, in order to create her very own.
The Reem Acra Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear collection was not a surprise to those that had long ago realized that there was a rare quality (call it wearable uber creativity) in her collection. This season, the outfits presented actually uplifted the whole NYFW event to a new level, the one of designing inspiration merged with classy yet wearable fashion outcome. Acra has showed long ago her devotion to strong female silhouettes, still the effect of black, waist defined outfits, the workmanship of the several black fabrics that presented us with combination of several ”blacks” in pure harmony, and the precision in detail made for a memorable collection, more ”feminine”,always luxurious and less aggressive that the previous Acra ones.Every outfit was a cerebration of handcrafted material, carefully placed details and superb dresses that i can safely predict will be the hot stuff of the season.Sequins and feathers strategically used in cardigans and skirts along with excellent floral detailing and color palette that ranged from all favorite black,to red hues, gold and metallic along with excellent use of defined shapes along with fluidity (especially in fantastic gold dresses) all bore the essence of Paris’ good old days transformed in a NY environment.A difficult task, yet a winning one for Acra.
