Not only is an exhibition we’d love to visit as a LBD has been one of the foundations of fashion since the Coco Chanel era but is also curated by Vogue US ”legend” André Leon Talley. Inspired of the whole vision and idea of this very exhibition regarding a modern fashion phenomenon: the little black dress. More than 80 designs from some of the biggest names in fashion will be on show, from archive pieces and recent designs to custom-made couture from celebrity closets. MAC, a brand long-associated with fashion, has enlisted its make-up artists to create a series of exclusive face charts to mark the event.Something worth noticing also and much intriguing as a parallel project. So,to mark the Little Black Dress exhibition, MAC has modeled make-up looks around the cult wardrobe classic.
“The exhibition emphasizes the strength of individualism, tracing the evolution of the little black dress from its definition and traditional to the most contemporary form and innovative experiments in terms of fabrics, colors and shapes,” says Talley, among the dresses are in fact also a selection of iconic designer dresses (Chanel, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Stella McCartney, just to name a few) already “tested” by celebrities Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rihanna.”
