It is the sixth year that the the British Fashion Council’s (BFC),supported by the Mayor of London choose talented young menswear designers to receive tailored business support provided by the BFC, in addition to a financial award to assist in showing either a catwalk show or presentation at London Collections: Men in June,an extraordinary idea especially in the field of menswear where a lot can and are to be done to promote real talent-because it exists!Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council commented that: ”It’s incredibly exciting to see such a talented trio of designers given the support and exposure their work deserves and with all eyes on London this June, there’s no better showcasing platform for their level of business”
The trio she’s talking about are new designers Christopher Raeburn, Sibling(a collaboration of three) and Lou Dalton and i can’t but say they have showed interesting work so far.Well, the future’s theirs.
To my personal opinion, designer Lou Dalton has managed to show she’s working on traditional British tailoring without loosing the modern sense of the apparel. Her work echoes dandyism yet with a sense of playful geometric lines and bright colors that end up into a completely fresh result. She defines her collection as “Rebellious English sportswear with a strong attention to detail.” and her ideal client as ”This Charming Man!”I couldn’t agree more therefore allow me to demonstrate my preference.
