Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard starring in David Bowie’s new provocative video for ‘The Next Day’

David Bowie is well known as an artist that loves to provoke and shock, creating interesting controversies on his work. After Tilda Swinton Starring in his video for “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),” the musician features Marion Cotillard and Gary Oldman in his new clip for “The Next Day.”.

Religious signs,a party that leads to…stigmata,Bowie as the Savior and several visual references to religion have created a stir regarding his new video, but hey, wasn’t that the goal for actually creating it in the first place? And,better judgement of someone’s work isn’t the provocative (sometimes even disturbing imagery, its the music and overall artistic integrity, aka aesthetics. The video was pulled from YouTube on Wednesday, before being returned with an adult-only sign.Thank God..I would just add, hey, dont take the video literally, its just Bowie and he’s done it before,if your remember his clash is catholic church on his posing as ”Christ” in Pulse magazine..

The video was directed  by the Italian filmmaker Floria Sigismondi, known for her dark imagery..
