It sounded pretty much obvious for DSquared2 to design for Beyonce, after all the two brothers have had always a tendency towards extravaganza and ”like-to-be-noticed” concept collections. Indeed a spokesperson for the brand informed us that there will be the “show-stopper of an outfit” only to be presented with the label’s spring/summer 2013 collection – influenced by supermodels of the Nineties. More drama here. Also, they stated that:”Beyonce chooses to wear a unique outfit created exclusively for her by Dean and Dan Caten, inspired by an item from the 2013 spring/summer Glamazon catwalk show,“. Glamazon..now why is that bearing echoes of 90’s extravaganza along with a touch of bling kitsch?I even show somewhere written in a serious manner that Beyonce is ”Queen of the Shunderwear”..
In the official O2 Priority tv ad she appears as desperate to be crowned as THE pop queen as ever, reproducing it in costumes with 16th century influences (see Queen Elizabeth) and on the whole concept. Its okay, though.
Lets just not forget that glam takes too much of an effort (aka talent) to be transformed into chic.Still,i could hardly call Beyonces sartorial choices as ”chic”.There, the match with DSquared2 appears almost inevitable,as they have also collaborated with another aspiring pop queen-Britney Spears. In any case,The Mrs. Carter world tour kicks off Monday,April 15 in Serbia.
