Valentino’s showing how couture really should be in his Paris spring/summer 2013 collection!

It was a revelation of something well known yet deeply buried in the depths of the fashion memory. The ability to create beauty combining craftsmanship and excellent design, leading to innovation via re-inventing the old Haute couture rules.Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli made Valentino spring/summer 2013 collection to set the limit really high for anyone worthy bearing the name of ”couturier”. Using  techniques that would appear kitsch or harsh elsewhere, they created probably the best collection of the season.Dresses with embroidery and crystal beading actually  incorporated between the layers of tulle that appear part of the overall design/fabric,wrought-iron on a dress in an effortless way, sculpted duchess satin, all in dresses of extreme beauty echoing   the idea: ”Renaissance meets Sixties forms.“We like to think that there are different ways to be sexy”    Maria  Grazia Chiuri commented, a sexiness where aggressiveness or understatement have no place. The idea here is otherworldly beauty rooted in Italian craftsmanship tradition and Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s ability to create magic.
